# B_02 — Copy Drift Audit (Sub-Agent B2)

**Mandate.** For every currently-active or recently-active (≤60d) cloud-partner campaign in the Instantly fleet, extract the quoted cold-email body from up to 10 reply samples, tag against the Tier-A winning + failing pattern catalog from `06_winning_hooks.md` / `06_failing_patterns.md`, and assign a copy-drift verdict.

**Method.** Pulled samples from `leads_snapshot.db.replies_full WHERE timestamp_email >= '2026-03-16'`. Joined with `campaigns_meta` (campaign_name) and Instantly lifetime stats (status). Extracted deepest-nested quoted block per reply using gmail/outlook/skrev demarcation. Read each quoted body with model judgment — tagged subject style, opener, CTA, offer wording, length, personalization. **N campaigns audited: 30** (5 Active, 17 Paused, 8 Completed within last 60d).

**7-line summary.**
1. The **NEW "premier-tier partner / 30% off cloud bill / as a CEO" stack** is alive in 4 currently-Active+Paused campaigns and is the biggest copy-drift cluster in the fleet.
2. Active **`EC_Cloud20K_2026-05`** ships almost every Tier-A killer (subject `thoughts`/`thought for X`, opener `as a CEO`, offer `premier-tier / 30% off / cloud bill`, p.s. `provider compensates partner`) — zero positives in 61 replies. Kill or rewrite immediately.
3. Active **`GrowthGrid Evergreen - Cloud Partners 2026-04`** is the ONLY currently-Active campaign that uses winning patterns (`saw you're a partner` observation + `15 PoR signups in a quarter` proof + `Worth a quick chat / Should I check`) and is the only one producing positives + meetings in May.
4. **Drift-before-decay watch** (preempt deaths NOW): `EC - 2026-05-03 A1/A4` (Tom Kessler), `EC_commit_discount_2026_05_06_DRAFT`, `Credits Doc 50-200 - 2026-05` — all push variations of "premier partner / commit discount / 30% off" with NO winning patterns; low reply volumes are masking that the angle itself is dead.
5. **Decay-but-copy-aligned** (staleness/audience burn): `Europe Cloud - Credits - Apollo List` (Ella Reed) still runs the winning `extend runway` + `$50-100k credits` + `certified partner` copy but burned through the 23K Apollo list — Mar peak 2.41% → Apr 1.18%. Not a copy problem; needs a new list, not a new email.
6. **Hebrew IL play (`GrowthGrid IL - Verified Low Soph`)** drifted: the winning `סטארטאפ אירופאי / רוצה שאשלח לכם אינטרו` is gone; current copy uses generic `Re: שאלה` subject + "35 פגישות ב-80 ימים" agency pitch (a Tier-A killer: `outbound` + `meetings` + `pipeline` vocabulary). Reply intent skewed negative/unsubscribe. Revert to the winning seed.
7. **Five ready-to-ship copy fixes are listed in §4** — three are single-phrase swaps on currently-Active or Paused-recent campaigns.

---

## 1. Active × Copy-Fingerprint Table

Tier-A winning patterns ("WIN"): `straight_to_point` opener / `are_you_using` opener / `saw_you_observation` opener / subject `extend runway` / subject `question for NAME` / offer `certified` / offer `$50-100k credits` / CTA `worth_a_chat` / CTA `low_friction_ask` / personalization `saw/noticed`.

Tier-A killing patterns ("KILL"): subjects `thoughts`/`60 seconds`/`quick one`/`Re: שאלה` (generic) · opener `as a CEO I'll keep this short` · offer words `premier-tier 30% off cloud bill` / `outbound` / `pipeline` / `meetings` / `15-30% off committed contracts` · CTA `Want me to walk you through how it works?` · CTA `bare ?` close · personalization `funding/raised` overspecific.

| 18 | **EC - COO - Invoice Consolidation - 2026-04** | Completed | 1 (`net-90 invoice consolidation` is specific) | 2 (CTA `Worth a quick look?`, `you pay nothing on our side, the cloud provider covers our fee` reassurance) | **Mixed → leans aligned** |
| 19 | **GrowthGrid IL - Verified Low Soph (Services)** | Paused | 1 (Hebrew `ראיתי שאתם...` = `saw_you_observation`) | 4 (subj `Re: שאלה` — Tier-A 8% killer in Hebrew, offer `35 פגישות ב-80 ימים` = `meetings/pipeline` agency vocabulary, CTA `רלוונטי?` = bare `?` close, persona = lawyers/marketing agencies, wrong fit for cloud partner offer) | **Drifted** |

| 22 | **Europe Cloud - Wiz Campaign** | Paused | 2 (`are_you_using_question` "do you have full visibility...?", `low_friction_ask` "Want free access for 3 weeks to try it?") | 1 (different angle, harder to compare — Wiz is a product not credits) | **Aligned-w-winners** (different angle) |
| 23 | **EC - Marketplace Credits Everything** | Paused | 2 (`$350K in credits`, `Google Marketplace covers DataDog/MongoDB/Anthropic` specific) | 1 (subj `quick one` / `small question` Tier-A killer family) | **Mixed → subject drift** |

| 27 | **Growthgrid - Israel - Cloud Partners** | Completed | 3 (`סטארטאפ אירופאי` clear subject, `ראיתי שאתם פרטנרים רשמיים` saw_you_observation in Hebrew, `אינטרו` low_friction_ask) | 0 | **Aligned-w-winners** (this is the Hebrew winning seed) |
| 28 | **EC - Google Funding Credits Everything** | Completed | n/a (all bodies empty in samples) | n/a | **Insufficient data** |

## 2. "Copy Drifted, NO Decay Yet" — Future Deaths to Revert NOW

These campaigns have copy drift but haven't shown statistically firm decay because reply volume is still being collected. They WILL die in the next 30 days if not fixed.

### 2.1. EC_Cloud20K_2026-05 (Active) — kill or rewrite immediately
- **Drift evidence:** sample 1 [email_id `019e262f-0e6f`, 2026-05-14, subject `Re: thoughts`] body:
  > *"Hi Alexis, As a CEO, you probably see the cloud spend growing month over month. What most companies don't realize, but premier-tier cloud partners can package a case for your provider and land around 30% off the bill, no technical changes, no other fees. Can I share how that works and what your account is eligible for? Outbound Team @ Cloud Credits EU. p.s. the cloud provider compensates the partner on the back end."*
  - Hits 5 Tier-A killers from `06_failing_patterns.md` §4: `as a CEO`, `premier-tier`, `30% off the bill`, `provider compensates partner`, `p.s.` reassurance. Reply: **"NOT interested! Worst pitch ever!"**
- Sister sample 2 [email_id `019e25dc-0c55`, 2026-05-14, subject `Re: one for Javier`]: body `"As a CEO I'll respect your time…premier cloud partner who can negotiate up to 30% better rate on your cloud bill…hyperscaler compensates the partner and us. Want me to walk you through how it works?"` — that CTA is in `failing_patterns.md` §8 explicitly: `Want me to walk you through how it works?` = 4 May losses, 0 wins.
- **Status:** Active, 3,400 sent, 61 replies, 0 opps (Instantly lifetime). Reply intent overwhelmingly negative/OOO.
- **Decay verdict:** insufficient touch data — but copy fingerprint matches `EC_Cloud20K_2026-05` in failing_patterns table §7 (6 losers / 0 winners explicitly listed).

### 2.2. EC - 2026-05-03 A1/A4 (Tom Kessler / Alex Morgan template) — Paused but template family is active elsewhere
- **Drift evidence:** sample [email_id `019e1b1e-28f0`, 2026-05-12, subject `Re: question for Lars`]:
  > *"Hey Lars, Short one, are GPU and inference costs growing faster than planned? We can pull up to $350k in cloud credits for AI teams across GCP, AWS and Azure. We partner with a Premier Partner that runs the application, paid by the provider not you. Should I check what you'd qualify for? p.s. application is on the provider, nothing from your end."*
  - Mix: `$350k` is a winner, BUT `Premier Partner runs the application` + `provider not you` + p.s. `nothing from your end` = three Tier-A killers from `06_failing_patterns.md` §4 (`free to you / nothing comes out` reassurance).
- Same template in A4 [email_id `019dfc3c-8b17`, 2026-05-06, subject `Re: question for Mikael`].

### 2.3. EC_commit_discount_2026_05_06_DRAFT (Completed but very recent — 2026-05-11)
- **Drift evidence:** [email_id `019e1609-71fc`, 2026-05-11, subject `Re: next renewal`]:
  > *"Hello Simon, When's your next cloud renewal? We work with Google, AWS and Azure on partner programs that knock 15-30% off the same commit, bill stays the same. Want me to send specifics? p.s. works whether you commit yet or not."*
  - **Explicit Tier-A killer from `06_failing_patterns.md` §8:** `15-30% off committed contracts` framing (0 winners). Subject `cloud commits` also in §8 zero-win list.
- 12 replies in window, 0 winners. The `commit-discount` angle is dead before it scales.

### 2.4. Credits Doc 50-200 - 2026-05 (Paused)
- **Drift evidence:** [email_id `019dfd29-911e`, 2026-05-06, subject `Re: for Derya`]:
  > *"Hey Derya, this might interest you: Did you know tech companies your size can usually get discounts on their cloud bill through partners? At Cloudcredits we connect companies with Premier-tier cloud partners who can get the best discount/credits offer out of your current cloud provider. Full transparency: we make an affiliate fee from referring you to partners, but you don't need to migrate or change anything in your setup, it's funded by your provider. Would you like me to get an offer for you from our partner network?"*
  - 5 issues: (1) length 510 chars >> 350 winning median, (2) `affiliate fee` over-disclosure (rare in winners), (3) `cloud bill` framing > `cloud credits`, (4) CTA `Would you like me to get an offer` = `open_to_question` Tier-A killer at 18%, (5) `Premier-tier cloud partners` flagged in §4.
- 14 replies, ≤1 soft_positive.

## 3. "Decay BUT Copy Aligned" — Audience Burn / Staleness, NOT Copy

These show decay in `02_decay_verdict_by_campaign.md` but their copy still ships winning patterns. Don't fix the email; fix the list / cadence.

### 3.1. Europe Cloud - Credits - Apollo List (Paused) — DEFINITIVE list-burn
- **Decay verdict (02_decay):** Mar peak 2.41% strong_prr → Apr 1.18% → **fading**.
- **Copy verdict (mine):** ALIGNED-w-winners. Sample [email_id `019d9a43-597c`, 2026-04-17, subject `Re: extend runway`]:
  > *"Hi Robertas, You probably qualify for $50-100k+ in cloud credits through Google and AWS, most early-stage founders miss this entirely. We're a certified partner. Zero cost from your end as Google/AWS pays us directly. Should I check your eligibility? Takes ~10 mins."*
  - Hits 4 of 9 Tier-A winners (`extend runway` subject 72%, `$50-100k+` 57%, `certified partner` 60%, `Should I check` low_friction 40%).
- **Diagnosis:** The 23K Apollo seed list saturated. Copy is fine. Solution: new list (Prospeo-built or re-segmented LinkedIn), not new copy. Reuse this exact copy on a fresh list.

### 3.2. Europe Cloud - Provided Data Test (Completed, single-month data)
- Copy is **the gold-standard** (samples 2, 3, 8 — all `extend runway` + `I'll keep it short` + `$50-100k+` + `certified partner` combo, producing the original positive replies cited in `06_winning_hooks.md`). Decay isn't a copy issue here; it's that the test ended.

### 3.3. Growthgrid - Cloud Partners (Completed, peak Mar) and Growthgrid - Cloud Partners - GCP (Completed, peak Mar)
- Both run the winning Willa Kohler / Therese Kemmer `Saw you're an AWS/GCP partner` + `early stage funded startup picking a cloud partner` + `35 qualified meetings in 80 days` proof. Multiple positives extracted (Alick @ GlobalDots, Lalit @ NA partner). Copy ALIGNED — the campaigns simply ended. The Evergreen 2026-04 successor is the right play (and is the only active winner).

---

## 4. Five Ready-to-Ship Copy Fixes (specific phrase swaps)

### Fix 1 — EC_Cloud20K_2026-05 (Active) — surgical kill of "as a CEO + premier-tier"
**Current (sample `019e25dc-0c55`):**
> "Hey Javier, **As a CEO I'll respect your time and keep this short:** Our **premier cloud partner** who can negotiate up to **30% better rate on your cloud bill** from your hyperscaler. The **hyperscaler compensates the partner and us. Want me to walk you through how it works?**"

**Replace with (gold-standard from Wideops + Europe Cloud Provided Data Test):**
> "Hey Javier, **I'll keep this short** — **are you on AWS or Google Cloud?** Funded startups your size usually qualify for **$50-100k+ in cloud credits**. We're a **certified partner**, so they pay us not you. **Should I check what you qualify for?** Takes ~10 mins."

Swaps: `as a CEO` → `I'll keep this short` (Tier-A 58% opener). `premier-tier 30% off cloud bill` → `$50-100k+ in cloud credits` (Tier-A 57%) + `certified partner` (Tier-A 60%). `Want me to walk you through` (0 May wins) → `Should I check` (Tier-A 40% low_friction).

### Fix 2 — EC_Cloud20K_2026-05 (Active) — subject swap
**Current subjects in this campaign:** `thoughts` / `thought for X` / `one for X` — all 0% positive in dataset (Tier-A killers).
**Swap to:** `extend runway` (72% positive, single highest-yield subject in dataset, evidenced in `Europe Cloud - Credits - Apollo List` campaign). Can also use `question for {{firstName}}` (Tier-A 91% single-subject winner).

### Fix 3 — EC - 2026-05-03 A1/A4 (Tom Kessler template) — kill the "free for you" p.s.
**Current p.s. line (sample `019e1b1e-28f0`):** `"p.s. application is on the provider, nothing from your end."`
**Drop the p.s. entirely.** From `06_failing_patterns.md` §4: `free to you / nothing comes out` reassurance had 0 wins / 8 losers Apr-May. Also drop body line `paid by the provider not you`. The audience reads it as "this is suspicious so I have to oversell why it's free."
Replace closing with the winning Wideops pattern: "Should I run the eligibility check?" — no reassurance.

### Fix 4 — EC_commit_discount_2026_05_06_DRAFT (do NOT relaunch as-is)
**Current angle (sample `019e01ec-8053`):** `"We work with AWS, GCP and Azure on partner programs that knock 15-30% off committed contracts."`
**The angle is dead.** From `06_failing_patterns.md` §8 — `15-30% off committed contracts` framing has 0 wins / explicit Tier-A killer; `cloud commits` subject 0 wins. **Do not re-enable this campaign with current copy.** If pursuing the commit-discount angle, completely restart — open with `are_you_using_question` ("Are you on AWS or GCP committed-use?") and lead with credits ($ amount) BEFORE the commit-discount benefit, treat discount as p.s. proof not headline.

### Fix 5 — GrowthGrid IL - Verified Low Soph (Paused, but copy is going to be reused)
**Current subject:** `Re: שאלה` — Tier-A 8% killer (`06_failing_patterns.md` §2: 3 wins / 34 losses).
**Replace with the winning Israeli seed:** `סטארטאפ אירופאי` (from `Growthgrid - Israel - Cloud Partners` campaign — multiple meetings booked, including Eran Shlomi @ DoiT and Haim Mashiah). Combined with the body `ראיתי שאתם פרטנרים רשמיים ועוסקים בענן... יש לי סטארטאפ אירופאי שעבר גיוס שמחפש שותף ענן כרגע. רוצה שאשלח לכם אינטרו?` Drop the `35 פגישות ב-80 ימים` agency-pitch body entirely — that vocabulary is `outbound/meetings` (Tier-A 18% killer per `06_winning_hooks.md` §5).

## 5. Bonus — Cross-Reference With Decay Verdicts (02_decay_verdict)

| Campaign | Copy verdict (mine) | Decay verdict (02) | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe Cloud - Credits - Apollo List | Aligned-w-winners | Fading (2.41% → 1.18%) | **Audience saturation. Fix list, not copy.** |
| GrowthGrid Evergreen - Cloud Partners 2026-04 | Aligned-w-winners | Alive, May peak 0.42% | **Copy is the template. Scale this.** |
| EC_Cloud20K_2026-05 | Drifted to killers | Insufficient touch data | **Copy will kill the campaign. Fix copy NOW before it formally decays.** |
| EC - CEO - Cloud Cost + Credits - 4 Angles - 2026-04 | Mixed (signal weak) | Insufficient data | Cannot disentangle copy vs audience; explicitly named in `06_failing_patterns.md` §7 (3 losers / 0 winners). Likely both. |
| Europe Cloud - April 26 - Credits Campaign | Aligned-w-winners | Alive, peak 0.09% | Low absolute conversion but copy fine — list quality issue (verify Apollo bucket overlap). |
| Europe Cloud - AI SRE | Aligned-w-winners (different angle) | Alive, peak 0.17% | Cloud-cost-scan angle is niche but copy is clean. Hold. |
| EC - AWS Activate Portfolio | Drifted | Not explicitly decayed (low volume) | Subject `60 seconds` is the killer. Replace subject before relaunch. |
| GG - Premier Partner Credits - EU DM - 2026-04 | Drifted | Explicit 0-win campaign in `06_failing_patterns.md` §7 | Both subject (`NAME, thoughts?`) and CTA (`Open to a short eligibility review?`) need fixes. |
| GG-EU-Tech-Hiring-Credits-2026-04-28 | Mixed → drifted (subject kills it) | Insufficient data | Body uses `saw_you_observation` (winner) but subject `NAME, thoughts?` is Tier-A killer — opens cap at 0%. **Subject swap alone could rescue this campaign.** |
| EC - No AI Bullcrap test | Drifted | Explicit 0-win in §7 | Copy fingerprint matches failing_patterns. Don't relaunch. |
| Growthgrid - Israel - Cloud Partners | Aligned-w-winners (the seed) | n/a (smallholdings sample) | This is the WINNING Hebrew template. Reuse it on `GrowthGrid IL - Verified Low Soph`. |
| GrowthGrid IL - Verified Low Soph (Services) | Drifted | n/a | Use Fix #5 above. |

## 6. Method limitations

- 10-sample cap per campaign; some campaigns (`EC - Google Funding Credits Everything`, `US SaaS 5-20`, `Inmails Offer - Clay list`) had all-OOO or zero-reply samples in the window, marked Insufficient.
- Quoted-block extraction misses Microsoft-Outlook "From: Sent: To: Subject:" headers in some German/Swedish OOO replies, causing artificial "(no quoted block found)" on auto-replies. This doesn't bias the audit since those don't reflect the recipient's view of the copy.
- Tier-A pattern catalog is from August 2025 → May 2026 cross-section in `06_winning_hooks.md`; this audit assumes those lift coefficients are still valid (they've held through Apr 2026 per §8 monthly trajectory in winning_hooks.md). The April-May steep cliff (49.6% Mar → 19.2% May) is consistent with the drift-into-killers pattern this audit catalogs.
